coaching

First, a little bit about me. As a NASM certified personal trainer, I have well over 20 years of strength training experience. Over these 20 years, I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to train a variety of athletes on all different levels striving to reach different strength or endurance goals.

Over the past 12 years of my personal ultra running career, I have taken my love for strength training and adapted it into my running & endurance training. Balancing these two forms of training is not easy and if not performed properly can easily lead to overtraining and injuries. I’ve discovered how to balance these two forms of training, Strength with Endurance, and have helped my clients become the strongest and fittest versions of themselves.

For a FITNESS focused client or a client looking to develop a stronger physique, we just don’t build your fitness or physique through general strength training. All my training programs are custom tailored to help each client safely progress from their current fitness ability and guide them to reach their desired goals. We combine structured Olympic style strength training with a variety of cardio exercises depending on what resources the client has access to. (running, swimming, biking, rowing, skiing, hiking, climbing, etc.). The combination of strength and cardio (endurance) will enable the client to effectively and efficiently reach their goals faster and help them become the strongest, most fit version of themselves.

For a RUNNING focused client, I just don’t prepare you to run a particular distance. I will prepare you to run a particular event. No two athletes are the same, and no two events are the same. This is why no two training programs should be the same. We will combine your strength workouts with a % of speed work, a % of hiking that reflects your event’s vertical profile, a % of Vo2Max endurance workouts to help increase your Vo2Max and recovering heart rate and Recovery Exercises for health and mobility.

As your coach, it is my job to help you properly prepare you to take on the variety of physical, mental & emotional challenges that you will face within your endurance event. The preparation process is the foundation and key element to a client’s overall success. Going into a mentally and emotionally taxing endurance event is tough enough as it is, if you are unbalanced in your home and work life when you start your event will not help your effort. Developing the proper tools and gaining a greater knowledge during the preparation process will minimize the physical, mental and emotional discomfort that comes from all endurance events. This is why ultra running is so empowering. It strengthens all aspects of one’s life.

I am a firm believer of paying only for what you need. If you are interested in my coaching services, the next step is to schedule an Introductory 1-hr Coaching call. The cost for the call is $100 and has to be paid prior to scheduling the call. This fee will be applied to your first month of coaching if you hire me. During this call, we will discuss your past fitness history, injuries & limitations, future goals, training styles and more.

After joining a training, you will receive an Adventure Your Potential Intro Questionnaire. This will also need to be filled out prior to our Introductory Coaching call. It will help guide me on our call so I understand who you are as an athlete and have a better understanding of your home, work and training availability. It is important that we customize your training schedule and have it in balance with your work and family life. Please have your answers completed prior to our call will help us stay within the one hour time frame.

Thanks again for reaching out. I look forward to hearing back from you and potentially helping you achieve your personal goals.
