Wasatch / Tahoe 300 Project

Altra Running

Utah endurance athlete Ben Light undertook a remarkable challenge by running two extreme ultra-marathon races back-to-back, totaling 305 miles, and completed them within 105 hours. His goal was to bring awareness and raise donations for the Utah-based nonprofit organization Neuroworx.

Wasatch / Tahoe 300 Project:

Ben ran both the Utah-based Wasatch 100-mile race and the California-based Tahoe 200-mile race, both starting on September 7th. He first completed the Wasatch 100, then immediately caught a chartered flight from Utah to California, where he started the Tahoe 200 race a day behind its original start. Ben needed to complete the Tahoe 200-mile race before its original 100-hour cutoff. Throughout this challenge, Ben endured a combined vertical gain of over 70,000 feet as he adventured through the rugged Wasatch and Sierra mountains.

Neuroworx:

Ben was honored to share his passion for life while raising money to assist individuals who physically cannot run. He partnered with the Utah-based nonprofit organization Neuroworx, a community-based outpatient physical therapy clinic focusing on neurological rehabilitation for individuals experiencing paralysis from spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke, and other neurological conditions. As a nonprofit charity and treatment center, Neuroworx provides care regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. Ben recognized the grit, determination, and dedication that each individual affected by a neurological injury needs to endure, and he wanted to ensure these individuals have every opportunity to receive extraordinary care.
