Utah-based endurance athlete and Motivational Speaker
Ben Light is an elite ultrarunner that thrives on running hundreds of miles all over the world. He is known for tackling some of the hardest running challenges in the most extreme conditions.
Ben lives in Heber City Utah and along with being an athlete, he works as a marketing consultant and motivational speaker. He is a dedicated Husband and Father of three with his two oldest graduated and off to college.
Ben enjoys sharing his inspiring message that encourages everyone to shift their mindset to reach beyond their perceived limits. He highlights his remarkable adventures within ultra-running to educate, inspire & empower people all over the world.
Ben also cherishes the opportunity to serve his local community. Through his unique and authentic endurance projects, Ben partners with worthy causes to help raise funds and donations. He has successfully raised tens of thousands of dollars for nonprofit organizations and individuals in need.
A few of Ben’s most notable accomplishments include:
- Ben became one of the first runners ever to complete the Triple Crown of 200s endurance challenge. A challenge made up of three 200+ mile endurance races All completed within a sixty-day period.
- Ben became one of the first Americans to complete the 268-mile Montane Spine Race held in the U.K. under extreme winter conditions. This race is labeled Britain’s Most Brutal Race and is coined as one of the hardest races in the world.
- Ben completed what he coined The Wasatch-Tahoe Project. Completing two back-to-back ultramarathon races that started the same morning but were located in two different parts of the United States. This involved Ben completing the first hundred-mile race located in Utah and chartering a plane to California to complete a second 200-mile race around Lake Tahoe. A total of 300+ miles. Ben raised thousands of dollars in donations for a Utah-based nonprofit organization, Neuroworx.
- Ben and fellow ultra-runner Mike McKnight completed a 300-mile run they created called The Utah BRAWL 300. This run linked up (2) 100-mile iconic ultra-marathons with an additional 100-mile mountainous route. They used this endurance event to raise donations for a fellow endurance athlete Austin Patten, who was recently paralyzed in a bike accident. The donations were used to purchase a racing wheelchair & specialized coaching to enable Austin to keep working towards his athletic goals.
